Two Brief Experiments
“Test all things; hold fast what is good” 1st Thessalonians 5:21 (NKJV)
Experiment I: Commercials (Desensitization Through Repetition)
THEORY:
Are Christians becoming desensitized through repetitious commercials? Many who have been exposed after a period of time would say no. However, researchers have determined that not only adults are desensitized, but their children are as well. In addition, these commercials have stuck in the viewers’ memories, due to catchy jingles and fantasy-creation.

Are Christian Children Being Shaped By What They See?
“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6) Good parents want to see their children grow up healthy and happy. Christian parents not only want their children to be healthy and happy, but to also develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Desensitization Through Television Programs And Commercials
“Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.” (Colossians 2:9, NKJV). Another technique used stemming from the amalgamation of propaganda and mind manipulation, is “Bypassing Reason.” Ordinarily a person will analyze a piece of information before taking action.

Desensitization
Desensitization By Repetition And Exposure: “They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to hardening of their hearts. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more.” (Ephesians 4:18-19, NIV)

Things Christians Should Hate And Why?
“He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.” (Proverbs 28:9)
Many Christians are deceived in believing that because of their humanity and imperfections that God does not require them to live righteous lives. If we read the Bible and it says that we must live righteously, why would anyone think that they are exempt from living a righteous life when God is no respecter of persons? The reason is mind manipulation and the worldview.

The Abominations
“To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled. They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.” (Titus 1:15-16, NKJV)
As you explore the Bible you will find many things God hate; but sin of any kind is abominable, detestable and loathsome to the Almighty God. Abomination is used to express the Bible’s strongest hatred for wickedness. God is so holy he cannot look upon sin, in fact, it is our iniquities that separate us from Him according to Isaiah 59:1-2. Sin, is anything contrary to His Word.

Who Are Compromising Christians?
“Having a form of godliness but denying its power.” (2nd Timothy 3:5, NKJV)
Compromising Christians are complacent Christians who are satisfied where they are now spiritually. They are not interested in growing in the things of God and they are limited in their walk with Christ. They do not study the Bible nor participate in Bible Studies. They are generally good people who trust in their good works to get them into heaven. They do not preach or teach the Word to others and hardly ever share what they have learn during Sunday Morning Services.

Was Man Created with a Free Will
Free Will, Free Seminary Course Lesson 05
What about the will of the unsaved?
The unsaved are bound to sin. They are unable to make “good” choices. All choices are made from their sin nature. What has become frequently known as Calvinistic theology teaches the Total Depravity of man. This theological belief is that man, though not as bad as he could be, was affected in every area of his being. That is his mind, will, and emotions. If God does not by regeneration change the heart of man he is unable to choose anything that is contrary to his sin nature.

Was Man Created with a Free Will
Free Will, Free Seminary Course Lesson 04
How does God’s providence work with man’s will after he is saved?
God is sovereign over all things, but at the same time he works with men’s choices. God freed man’s will from its slavery to sin. Man makes a real choice for salvation. He is a free agent in that choice. But until God frees a man’s will he cannot make that choice, all he can do is choose what his sin nature dictates. It is a real choice made by man from a new nature. After a man is saved he must still deal with sin.

Was Man Created with a Free Will
Free Will, Free Seminary Course Lesson 03
How does salvation affect man’s will?
Christ’s salvation enables man to be born again. That is, born of the Spirit. Through regeneration man’s heart is able to rightly choose because of his new nature. Man was created in the image of God. That image though it remains is marred by the fall. God’s salvation restores man to what he would have been before he was affected by the consequences of rebellion.
