After the setting of the sun on Friday, the second day had started which ended on the sun set of Saturday. After sunset on Saturday, Jesus had entered the third day. This is convenient with the Jewish counting of the day. The Good News Version has simplified this dilemma to people who are not conversant with Jewish counting of the day (Luke 24:1), time and years.
